The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Game ReviewMy name is Aaron and I love the game The Witcher and after playing Witcher I was curious if there was any official release of The Witcher 2. After a short search online and a lot of reading I found that the Witcher franchise was still alive and well and as an avid Witcher fan I couldn't wait to get my hands on this game. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time.I must say that the game was quite disappointing to me, but luckily I had played the original version and it's worth buying. So I started looking for info on the sequel, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. In my opinion, it has everything that the original game has.In the first Witcher game you played as Geralt, a soldier who went insane after he was betrayed by a friend. He now has to complete different missions while trying to keep from killing innocent civilians. I was only able to understand one story line and the rest I had to d o by trial and error. However, the new game, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings tries to bridge the gap between the previous game and the upcoming sequel.What does The Witcher: Assassins of Kings add to the series? Well not much actually, everything that the Witcher: Blood and Wine brought to the table and more. You have a story line with two parallel storylines, one starting from the time when you left your home in Velen to pursue your career in the profession of bounty hunter and another storyline which include exploring the Northern Kingdoms.Apart from the already mentioned gameplay, the biggest addition comes from the addition of single player missions that focus mainly on the area where the previous game left off. The developers did an excellent job, each mission had its own set of objectives, some were just a bit longer than others. This time around you have different objectives and challenges to complete, which are directly related to the main plot line and thus you're free to do whatever you want. As a Witcher fan I really appreciate this improvement to the game, because after playing the previous two Witcher games I felt that the game really needed something else to make it special.If you've read my other reviews, you'll know that I'm always quite pleased with the unique features the developer made for this game. You can choose between two types of experience, manual or auto, whichever you prefer. Once you chose you can get started by going to the village of Toussaint, which was the starting point of the main game, and complete several quests for the people there.I must say that after playing both games, I am very impressed with The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, its story and unique gameplay make it the perfect game to finish the Witcher trilogy.
